Gearing up for Summer

The weather may not be cooperating yet, but I can feel (and almost taste) summer when looking through the summer class list. Plans to make pies, pick blueberries, make wild rice knockers, help with the birch bark canoe project, and participate in one of our newest classes, “Creating a Dialogue with Nature,” easily fill the calendar. While we can’t actively participate in most of these events until winter is a bit farther behind us, it is nice to put them on the calendar in excitement for the near future.

Summer is also a time I look forward to because of the many opportunities to gather in community and see folks that weren’t around in the winter. On Thursday, May 5 we will kick off the season with pasty preparation for the upcoming Spring Bonfire. Come by if you would like to help, anytime starting at 9:30am, until finished. Although there won’t be any canoeing at the bonfire at Semer’s on May 11, we will have live music, food, snacks, and yard games.

Hope to see you there!
