Ely Folk School Mercantile Manager Job Description
Job Summary:
The Ely Folk School Mercantile Manager works in the Ely Folk School Mercantile, overseeing the daily operations of the mercantile, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively. The Mercantile Manager will be responsible for keeping track of stock, offering impeccable customer services, and engaging in social media marketing. This is a 25 hour/week position, starting at $15/hour from May-September.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Store Manager
○ Deliver excellent service and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
○ Respond to customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
○ Develop and arrange promotional materials
○ Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive store environment
○ Carry out sales using Square
○ Work with Program Coordinator and Program Director on inventory management and reporting
Social Media Manager
○ Engage as the Ely Folk School on social media (Instagram and Facebook)
○ Take high-quality photos of EFS visitors and students
○ Create engaging content and post to EFS channels and relevant groups
○ Engage with people on social media about Ely and the Ely Folk School – reply to comments, repost instructor work, etc.
○ Create compelling ads, as requested
Other duties as requested
Reporting Relationships
The Mercantile Manager will work under the supervision of the Program Director, and will also report to the Ely Folk School Board. The Mercantile Manager will be invited to a 90-day review meeting, and subsequent annual review meetings.
