Under Cecilia Rolando’s guidance, attendees will design a fabric hanging from a selection of materials, piece it together during class, and then finish it with machine stitching or hand sewing or even iron-on bonding material like Stitch Witchery. There will probably be time in class to work on the stitching, and if you wish to do machine stitching, the folk school does have some sewing machines available, but it’s best if you bring your own machine, since you’re familiar with it.

The class is open to beginners or experienced sewers and quilters. The focus will be on design and how to piece together fabric, threads, yard, buttons, trims, etc. without the formality of quilting.

Students are invited (but not required) to bring favorite scissors and other tools, large needles and pins.

Covid19 safety restrictions will be observed. Please bring a mask or use one we provide. Students are encouraged to come vaccinated.
