The Ely Folk School is excited to announce our third annual year of summer youth classes! This year, Kids Makers Morning serves Pre-K and Kindergarten children. The Creative Kids class series serves elementary aged kids. Each of these programs forge community and connection to place through craft and offers opportunities to foster creative spirit through exploring new hands-on skills, materials, and hobbies. We have so much fun with this program and are continually impressed with the kids’ creativity and propensity for learning.

The summer youth classes do look different than last summer.  The program has grown quickly and each summer we try to adapt the program based on feedback from participants and instructors. This year, Kids Makers Morning for kids between Pre-K and Kindergarten will be on Friday mornings from 9am-11:30am. Two separate sessions are offered and folks can sign up for one or both sessions. The class size is limited to 8 children and we ask that parents let us know when your child will not be able to attend.

Kids Makers Morning for Pre-K – Kindergarten

“Preschool and Kindergarten aged children will embark on a process-based journey through the senses as they are invited to explore the wonders of painting, drawing, building, cooking, sewing, working with clay, experimenting with materials sourced from the natural world, storytelling and making friends!” Jennifer Toddie will be back teaching KMM this summer and says she is thrilled to have the opportunity to share wonder with your children this summer at the Ely Folk School!

KMM Session 2 registration opens April 1st and takes place July 19, July 26, August 2, and August  9th.
